PROJECT H.O.O.D

Ta’Rhonda Jones is a true representation of a woman with many hats. She stands strong as an activist, actress, director, producer, celebrity master chef champion, fashion designer, host, comedian, intoxicating rapper, song writer and philanthropist. Jones is most known for her breakout role as Porsha, on Fox’s hit television show Empire. Showcasing more than just her acting skills on the show, Ta’Rhonda shocks the world with her forward thinking talents and golden mindset to shift out of the box thinking. Jones is the Founder of Black Village Foundation. A nonprofit focused on providing financial resources for black entrepreneurs on the southside and westside of Chicago. Jones enjoys spending her off season as a non-profit leader and motivational influencer. Since the beginning of COVID, she’s given away hundreds of thousands of lbs of food, in many communities.

Gaining a reputation for her Christmas give away where she has given away 10,000+ toys. She has since then launched over $150,000 in grants to build black wealth in Chicago. She is Chicago’s daughter!

Continuing success in her everyday walks, Ta’Rhonda has been featured on ABC, Fox, NBC, Lifetime, BET and other influential networks. Her most recent fashion project as a fashion designer consisted of a collaborative partnership with AKIRA, showcasing the Black Village Foundation Collection on one of the biggest fashion stages for New York Fashion Week. During times of creative living, you can find Ta’Rhonda in the study of music and film while focuses on bringing back the raw foundation of music and amplified sounds. Jones has produced live from her living room and inspired artist of all kinds to further their career.

Ta’Rhonda has blessed individuals with her presence as the Co-Host of The Real and The Steve Harvey Show and as Host of the Carpet for E! News and the BET Soul Train Awards. During this year of expansion, Ta’Rhonda will be focusing on her next big project as a producer, actor, chef, rapper and philanthropist as she continue to release the J(Actress) project.

During our meeting we discuessed programming that aligns with enhancing and encouraging youth within your community to become more active in entertainment. Our strategy meets hand and hand with the mission of Project H.O.O.D which includes ending senseless violence, ending recidivism and building communities one neighborhood at a time. By adding an Actress Workshop we can commit to bringing the following benefits to their lives.

Our mission is to assist youth with becoming versatile and a jack of all trades. In addition, teach self awareness by pursuing the opportunity to become a trained actor. Focusing on teaching each participant how to deal with their emotions by feeling their feelings rather than thinking them. During the Actress Hub Workshop students will understand their capabilities and their hidden crafts. Our team will provide discipline that will shift their mindsets from the things that tries to hinder their destiny in addition, providing teachings in other sub-hubs such as photography, writing and more.

We don’t operate on full payments per student, which means that you can pay monthly for infinite amount of youth attending The J(Actress) Hub Workshop. Most acting workshops charge per student attending.

How are we different from the others?

The minimum term is 12 months. The reason is simple. We need our commitment for that length of time to achieve the kind of results we are both setting out to achieve within communities around Chicago.
